Data Subject Areas

Some ERD modeling programs use Data Subject Areas for managing large data models. This is a method of grouping Entities and Relationships into meaningful subject areas. For example, one portion of my model might be dedicated to accounting and another to sales, while some of the entities and relationships might be used by both. If I can switch between Data Subject Areas and have a unique geometry for each, I can build very large and complex models in one schema.
A simplified version of DSA's would be to create collapsible groups, or super-entities. If I have three entities that relate to eachother I can collapse them into one entity to make the model more clear at a higher level.
Thanks for listening!

thank you for your input
So it may require more than one canvas for the display (one for each DSA)?
hmm...
That's righ, but it might get confusing if it feels like I'm editing different data models. Another major ERD modeler uses a treeview on the left to switch between DSA's but personally I'd probably prefer a tabbed approach.
